Hand-Tracking AR Experience

A real-time browser experiment blending computer vision with 3D graphics.

The Problem

Most AR experiences require a native app, external hardware, or heavy SDKs. I wanted to prove that expressive, gesture-driven 3D interaction could run directly in a browser tab — on any modern laptop.

Approach

I paired MediaPipe's hand-landmark model with a Three.js scene, streaming webcam frames through WebRTC, mapping 21 hand keypoints onto a WebGL overlay, and tuning the render loop so pose updates never blocked painting.
